Recently had a full house painting job sort of completed. The job was suppose to start in early June, they got to it the last part of July.

Nice kids but definitely kids and far from professional in quality of work and care around the job site. First day was prep and primer with small drops of primer deposited on my brand new trexx deck. Big promises of cleaning up, but not done very well. Later that afternoon 3 of the 4 spent more time and energy in talking than devoting to the task at hand.

After a little chewing out by me the next morning there was more focus, but still more spilled paint on my new deck. They were quite slow but did slop alot of paint onto the siding - that was the good thing. Per the contract they were to do two coats of new paint on the second story exterior which I agreed to reduce to one coat because of difficulty of access and they did not provide the safety equipment/harnesses they promised to have. The contract also called out for a clear urethane coat of the wood soffit areas.

Most of this was done and the team leader assured me all areas were taken care of. I questioned him several times on this with the same assurance. He lied to me. I verified the non-coating with a closer inspection and verification that no more urethane had been used after the lower soffits were completed.

They also missed areas above our atrium windows which I ended up having the deck contractor do. I called and asked that their area supervisor contact me and come out to see the deficient and missed work. No bother go get back to me.

I even did some of the painting for them prior to their start date as the deck contractor removed old deck framing and opened up the lower siding. Like I said, they were nice kids trying to pay their way thru college but sadly I would strongly recommend, unless you have a really easy painting job, to take your business elsewhere.

Reason of review: Sloppy and did not complete per contract.

Preferred solution: Price reduction.

College Pro Painters Pros: Nice kids, Courteous.

College Pro Painters Cons: Mess they made, I will have to do final clean of deck, Being lied to by team lead, Not finishing to the contract spec.

Location: Camano Island, Washington
